The Girls Institute For Technology provides an academic environment for disabled and disadvantaged girls from tribal mountain areas to develop practical computer and business skills.
Our new project is an all girls school in Tibet. The goal for funding is $250,000.
Our flagship project of rebuilding a small Buddhist monastery in Tibet that teaches and supports over 160 children was completed last year.
This particular monastery will cater to those who come from a humble background, particularly those who are not able to receive any form of education and will offer them the highest form of Tibetan monastic education.
Another project focused on the preservation of the Tibetan culture, this project was initiated by the 16th reincarnation of Thangtong Gyalpo who has been named to head the monastery.
Our new project is a philosophical institute in Tibet. The goal for funding is $250,000.
This is in an area in Eastern Tibet where the Tibetan nomads still outnumber the Chinese. They are in need of a small hospital and a rotation of western doctors.
This year's projects are focused in Asia. We welcome your ideas for next year's project locations.
We are also striving to raise $500,000 in funding for new projects so that we are able to assist the recipients in a timely manner when needs are brought to our attention and approved by our board.
